How One Person Can Change Your Path : Friendship is a Catalyst

Every so often, one relationship can alter the course of your work, your purpose, and even your legacy. My friend Lee Kinard, a broadcasting legend, did that for me—not just by featuring my art, but by modeling three principles every leader should live by: advocacy—championing the success of others; humility—making the spotlight bigger instead of brighter on yourself; and collaboration—combining strengths to create more than you could alone. These values shaped not only our book NC Behold the Beauty, but also my approach to building partnerships and inspiring audiences.
